With its brand new 7G, NewTom brings the benefits and ultra-high performance of Cone Beam technology to veterinary radiology, opening up to the treatment of large-sized patients and to a number of clinical applications. This is thanks to the 77 cm wide gantry and the motor-driven patient table with capacity up to 215 kg, but also to a wide range of functions and automatisms allowing FOVs to be modulated and procedures to be streamlined.

Up to 90 μm resolution, dedicated and user-friendly software windows and full connectivity make of NewTom 7G the ideal 3D and 2D imaging device for veterinary facilities wishing to expand their diagnostic capacity.

Multi-Scan Body

In the field of digital radiology, CBCT technology has inherent advantages, which allow high resolution 3D images to be obtained. This type of X-ray scans offers accurate volumetric reconstructions with much lower X-ray doses than conventional MSCTs.

With NewTom 7G VET diagnostic tests can be carried out on large animals, too. Through the injection of contrast media, it is possible to scan anatomical parts anywhere in animal bodies by irradiating even complex anatomical regions such as the abdomen or thorax

This is combined with a level of precision virtually unmatched on the market: a resolution up to 90 μm makes it possible to examine even tiny structures such as joints in small-sized animals.

Broad and at the same time accurate scanning allows for different types of examination, including with intravenous, oral or intra-articular administration of contrast media. NewTom 7G makes procedures possible such as joint and soft tissue analysis, microfracture detection, airway study and surgical follow-ups. It also uses protocols and automatisms to optimise the X-ray dose, eliminate distortions and prevent errors.

Adaptive FOVs

With its adaptive FOVs NewTom 7G enables doctors to precisely irradiate the clinical area where a diagnosis is required.

With fields of view ranging from 4 cm to 29 cm in diameter, combined with the 4 available protocols (Low Dose, Regular, Enhanced and Best Quality), medical professionals can choose the most suitable type of imaging with the lowest possible radiation dose. And this, without having to compromise on image quality.

eXtra Functions

eXtra FOV is the protocol that extends the field of view longitudinally to reach dimensions of 17x62 cm and 29x56 cm. The motor-driven patient table allows 2 to 4 FOVs to be grouped automatically in sequence into a single exam.

Static and dynamic 2D

The Ray2D, Cine-Scout and CineX functions help to expand each surgery's diagnostic offering. Ray2D lets users perform 2D X-ray examinations with a 30x30 cm detector on various areas from multiple projection angles, at 5° intervals.

Moving anatomical structures can be X-rayed using the CineX function. This allows an in-depth analysis of moving systems to be performed, such as a study of fluids during swallowing.

The Cine-Scout function allows on-machine scanning to be performed with serial radiography, also in preparation for the administration of contrast media.

Ergonomics designed for veterinary radiology

The advanced level of engineering development of NewTom 7G is clearly reflected by the ergonomic and user-friendly design of the machine - which is a key factor for veterinary radiology.

The servo-controlled table is extremely stable and moves with great precision along three dimensions, ensuring perfect positioning.

Thanks to the opening on both sides, a respiratory control device can be added without hindering the operator's movements.

Every function of 7G can be controlled through handy touch screens that can be positioned, in pairs, on both sides of the gantry.

In this way, the operator is always close to the patient who can be easily positioned using the motor-driven table. Starting the scan is also highly practical.

Automatic features

In addition to adaptive FOVs, NewTom 7G has other automatisms such as the SafeBeam™ technology that adapts the X-ray emission to the patient's size. In addition, NewTom 7G also provides assisted patient alignment of FOVs with multiple scouts. Managed through the on-machine multi-consoles and/or 22'' monitor, assisted alignment reduces the risk of errors.

NNT Software

The NNT software, with its dedicated interface for veterinary radiology, has advanced functions to cover multiple specialisations via special reconstruction windows. These include bilateral imaging of bone structures, dental panoramic imaging and the SLICE window, which ensures multiplanar analyses with personalised orientation to scan anatomical areas from different angles.

The simple 3D display interface makes communication with pet owners much easier, allowing the patient's condition to be made clear with easily readable imaging.

All examinations are compatible in DICOM format: they can be shared via the integrated Viewer or printed in 1:1 scale on plates.
